Dealing with the Devil's Tortured Analogies

You know those old b.s. stories about Led Zeppelin, where Jimmy Page supposedly used his occult magick to help record sales and all that shit. How the band's spiritual payment came due, and Robert Plant got in a bad car accident, and his wife almost died, and his son did eventually die? And they recorded Presence and In Through the Out Door? And of course, it eventually led (no pun) to even worse fates, and Zeppelin disbanded?

That reminds me of the 49ers right now. Still paying the piper for 1981 - 1998.

It's just going to get worse. When has a rumor not culminated in reality for this group? Remember scoffing at the Harbaugh to Cleveland trade rumors.

Remember, rich kid got his rich guy stadium.

Me the rest of this offseason.

Disclosure: I love Presence, and will tolerate In Through the Out Door. Coda doesn't really count, but it has Poor Tom, so it's good to go. Still, there is an obvious drop-off between Physical Graffiti and the last two proper albums. I'll still buy the remasters, of course.

PS: Song Remains the Same's rendition of No Quarter's middle section is so perfect, I group this record with the earlier albums (obv it was recorded during that earlier time frame, but released in 76, after the ominous and tragic events started).
