Jim Harbaugh is an Asshole Genius

[The video was to be embedded here, but the NFL already shut it down. They are ruthlessly efficient]

Apparently, Schwartz told Harbaugh over the summer that Harbaugh wouldn't be able to "accomplish what you need to accomplish" because of the lockout and the shortened offseason. So, Harbaugh dismisses the guy after the game, resulting in a pretty funny blowup if you ask me.

As far as the game goes, you have to love 5-1 and you have to love all these eastern time zone road victories. A totally new day for the 49ers.

The defense was incredible today. They finally have a legitimate pass rush. Frank Gore was great as well.

On the other hand, they won this game despite Alex Smith, who decided to bring back Overthrows McGee and tried fairly hard to throw the game away. The 49ers are missing a passing game, and you can't be an elite team without one. Detroit seemed like a pretty good team, but not really a great team. They couldn't stop the run and they seemed to give up at the end of the game.

When I think of an elite team, I think of the Packers. When you watch their offense, you get the sense that they can score a TD whenever the hell they want and that they just hold back to make things interesting and entertaining.

The 49ers, on the other hand, are missing a quarterback and have a genius head coach that is brilliantly squeezing every possible ounce of production from this offense. When he gets HIS quarterback, he'll eventually put a juggernaut on the field.

Until then, it's just kind of amusing to sit and watch this team win games. Harbaugh's a beast, and head coaches aren't beasts.
